Jan 30th, 2009

Hello, Submarine Committee,

I'm contacting you on behalf of our chair Anne Moore to set a meeting in the next few weeks.  Anne has suggested February 11, 13, 18 or 20.  The meeting room is not available on the 11th, so we are narrowing it to February 13, 18 or 20 at noon in the 4th Floor Conference Room at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. Please let me know by Monday, if you have any preference on dates. We have a lot to discuss and need as many members as possible to attend.

First- Commander Blakely has sent a letter inviting Columbia representatives to come to Hawaii for a VIP tour and cruise over the weekend of April 11 - 12, which is also Easter Weekend.  We will be getting out more details as soon as possible. (See attached letter)

Second - We have received word that crew members will be joining us for the Memorial Day Weekend.  We have sent a suggested itinerary.  The crew us currently scheduled to arrive on Friday, May 22 and depart on Wednesday, May 28.

On a final note, as some of you may know, Lynn Smith has retired from the Navy.  Lieutenant Mike Keating will be representing the Navy ROTC on our committee.  I spoke with him today, and he looks forward to working with us. Lynn also hopes to stay involved as his schedule allows.

Thanks,

Renee Graham
